Ripple has launched a strategic Web3 initiative in Japan to empower startups building on the XRP Ledger (XRPL). In partnership with Web3 Salon and with the backing of JETRO (Japan External Trade Organization), the program aims to accelerate innovation in the region’s fast-growing blockchain space.
Up to $200,000 in Grants for XRPL-Based Projects
At the heart of the initiative is Ripple’s startup grant program, which offers up to $200,000 per project. The funding comes from the Japan & Korea Fund, a regional arm of Ripple’s $1 billion XRPL ecosystem fund launched in 2022.
“The program will target startups building real-world use cases such as DeFi, tokenized assets, and digital payments on XRPL,” Ripple announced.
In addition to financial backing, selected startups will gain access to Ripple’s global network of investors, mentors, and technical experts—providing critical tools for long-term growth.
Web3 Salon to Lead Mentorship and Regulatory Guidance
While Ripple supplies the capital and global connectivity, Web3 Salon will lead founder development and business readiness. This includes:
- Personalized mentorship
- Investor matchmaking
- Regulatory compliance assistance
- Market launch support
“Japan’s regulatory structure is clear but complex,” Web3 Salon noted, “and hands-on guidance is crucial for success.”
This dual approach—funding plus deep support—aims to eliminate traditional entry barriers for blockchain entrepreneurs in Japan.
Major Events Planned Across Japan Until 2026
Ripple and Web3 Salon plan to host four major Web3 innovation events through March 2026. These include:
- Startup pitch competitions
- Policy and regulation panels
- Investor networking forums
- Educational workshops
“These events will build bridges between innovators, regulators, and business leaders,” the team confirmed.
Ripple community analyst WrathofKahneman emphasized this schedule as proof of the company’s long-term commitment to Asia, particularly Japan’s digital economy.
Japan’s Role in Global Web3 Development
With its tech-savvy population and strong regulatory clarity, Japan is emerging as a leader in the next wave of blockchain adoption. Ripple’s latest initiative reflects a strategic effort to foster real-world XRPL applications and align with national economic goals.
“This partnership is not just about funding—it’s about building an ecosystem,” Ripple’s team said.
The program is expected to drive Web3 innovation, investor confidence, and regulatory alignment across Japan.
