Capriole Investments’ Charles Edwards says a rapid move toward $150K is likely as Bitcoin benefits from gold’s safe-haven surge and institutional demand.
Bitcoin Price Surge Sparks Fresh Bullish Outlook
Bitcoin’s breakout above the $120,000 level has revived bullish sentiment across the market, with analysts pointing to higher price targets before the year ends. According to Capriole Investments founder Charles Edwards, the move could lead to a “very quick” rally toward $150,000, driven by rising institutional inflows and growing demand for safe-haven assets.

Speaking at a major industry conference in Singapore, Edwards noted: “I wouldn’t be surprised if we went up to $150,000 in a pretty short time, like we have to break out of the $120,000 range. But that’s probably coming, potentially in the next days.”
Institutional Demand and Market Cycles
Bitcoin has gained over 6% in the past week, reclaiming the $118,500 mark for the first time since mid-August. Analysts suggest that the renewed rally is being supported by increasing allocations from institutional investors, particularly as gold also sees a safe-haven surge amid global economic uncertainty.
Edwards also highlighted the relevance of the market’s four-year cycle theory, describing it as “self-fulfilling” due to investor psychology. “At the end of the day, the driving force is institutional buying, and if that pivots down, my view will be very different,” he said.
While Edwards projects $150K as a near-term target, other analysts see even greater upside. Research firms have suggested that the inclusion of crypto in U.S. retirement plans could unlock over $120 billion in new capital, potentially lifting Bitcoin above $200,000.
Historically, Bitcoin has delivered its strongest returns in the final quarter of the year. Data shows average monthly gains of 20% in October, 46% in November, and 4% in December, reinforcing expectations of a bullish close to 2025.
