How Denis Dariotis turned childhood trading and early programming skills into a global digital-asset infrastructure company
At just 22 years old, Denis Dariotis has emerged as one of the most influential young founders in the digital-asset industry. His company, GoQuant, now processes over $1 billion in daily trading volume, but the journey began long before the crypto boom—when he was still a child checking market prices between school lessons.
Early Start in Trading and Programming
Growing up in Montreal, Dariotis became fascinated with market tickers flashing across financial news programs. By the third grade, he was already managing a personal portfolio, often asking teachers for a few minutes to track the market’s open and close.
By age 11, he moved from investing to learning programming languages such as Python and C++, laying the foundation for the automated trading systems he would later build. When he realized he was spending too much time manually scanning datasets, he began creating tools to automate research and back-test strategies.
Breakthrough Into Institutional Finance
At the age of 15, Dariotis licensed his first trading software to a major Canadian bank and later attracted interest from investment managers and hedge funds. His early exposure to professional finance helped him see gaps in the crypto ecosystem, especially around liquidity fragmentation and slow order-book updates.
GoQuant’s Rapid Growth in the Crypto Infrastructure Space
By early 2025, GoQuant secured more than $7 million in early funding, including a seed round led by major industry investors. The company has expanded into multiple regions and continues to scale with products like GoDark, an institutional-grade dark pool, and GoCredit, a lending platform with hundreds of millions of dollars in loan demand.
Dariotis says the mission is to build the connective layer of digital markets as tokenization and new asset classes accelerate.
His guidance for young innovators is clear: stay adaptable and avoid limiting yourself to narrow product lines. Building interconnected solutions, he says, creates opportunities far greater than isolated successes.
