Integration with local payment network aims to simplify crypto transactions amid regulatory delays
Coinbase is expanding its presence in Poland by integrating Blik, one of the country’s most widely used mobile payment systems. The move comes through a partnership with European payment processor PPro, aiming to make crypto transactions faster, simpler, and more familiar for Polish users.
Blik has nearly 20 million users in Poland, and the integration allows Coinbase customers to make instant payments using the network. Coinbase executive Côme Prost highlighted that improving local payment rails is crucial for increasing adoption and streamlining the user experience. The integration is expected to support more efficient crypto purchases and transfers on the platform.
Regulatory Context and MiCA Licensing
The expansion comes as Poland struggles to pass a national cryptocurrency regulation, with the government recently reintroducing a vetoed crypto bill. Despite the regulatory uncertainty, Coinbase operates under the European Union’s MiCA license, obtained in June, allowing it to legally offer services across member states even without a formal local law.

Poland ranks eighth in Europe for total crypto received, according to Chainalysis’ 2025 European Crypto Adoption report. The country continues to see robust growth in crypto usage despite lagging national legislation, making it an attractive market for Coinbase to expand its services.
By integrating Blik payments, Coinbase strengthens its local infrastructure, enabling faster, user-friendly crypto transactions in Poland. The partnership with PPro positions Coinbase to capitalize on growing crypto adoption, even amid regulatory uncertainty, and sets the stage for further expansion in 2026.
