Israel Conducts Strikes in Tehran and Beirut
Israel has carried out simultaneous airstrikes in Tehran and Beirut, targeting Iranian military infrastructure and positions associated with Hezbollah. The coordinated operations mark a significant escalation in the widening regional conflict.
Iranian officials report that more than 550 people have died following thousands of strikes conducted jointly by Israel and the United States. Among the casualties is Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, whose death represents a major turning point in the confrontation.
Iran Retaliates Across the Middle East
In response, Iran has intensified attacks on Israel and U.S. allies in the region. Six American service members have been killed since the conflict began. Israeli authorities confirmed 11 fatalities, while additional casualties were reported in the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, and Bahrain. In a separate incident, Kuwait mistakenly downed three U.S. fighter jets amid heightened aerial activity.
Hezbollah, the Iran-backed Lebanese militant group, has launched missiles from Lebanon into Israel, prompting further Israeli strikes that reportedly killed dozens of people.
U.S. Signals Ongoing Military Campaign
President Donald Trump stated that a “big wave” of U.S. military action is still to come, with objectives including dismantling Iran’s missile capabilities, crippling its navy, halting nuclear ambitions, and preventing support for militant groups. The U.S. State Department has ordered the departure of non-emergency personnel from six Middle Eastern countries, urging Americans to leave the region amid mounting tensions.
In a post on X, Huckabee said that the U.S. embassy was “not in a position at this time to evacuate or directly assist Americans in departing Israel.;
Iran’s top security official, Ali Larijani, confirmed that Iran will not negotiate with the U.S., rejecting claims of ongoing talks. The conflict has triggered sharp increases in oil prices and forced Gulf countries to evacuate foreign nationals, with widespread flight cancellations and airport closures disrupting travel and trade.
