Bitcoin Conviction Buyers Reach Nearly 4 Million BTC

Bitcoin long term holders are growing rapidly, signaling stronger confidence in the market despite recent price swings. BitGo data shows that so called “conviction buyers” now control nearly 4 million BTC, marking a sharp 300% increase since late 2025.

At current prices near $79,000, these holdings are valued at more than $320 billion. Market analysts believe this trend reflects a major shift, with more Bitcoin moving into wallets that rarely sell regardless of short-term volatility.

Large institutional players and corporate treasury firms are playing an important role in this accumulation trend. Among them, Strategy has continued increasing its Bitcoin reserves, holding more than 818,000 BTC while sitting on billions in unrealized gains.

Bitcoin Supply Shock Narrative Gains Momentum

Analysts argue that when Bitcoin moves into long term storage, liquid supply on exchanges becomes tighter. This can create conditions for a future supply shock if market demand rises quickly.

Most Recent Bitcoin Buyers Are Already in Profit

Research also suggests nearly 70% of recent Bitcoin buyers are currently profitable. Historically, when investors remain in profit, selling pressure tends to decline, helping stabilize prices during short-term pullbacks and supporting a stronger market foundation.
