IREN Expands AI Cloud Infrastructure Capacity

Deployment is scheduled in phases across its data centers in Mackenzie, British Columbia, and Childress, Texas, during the second half of 2026.

IREN (IREN),  agreed to buy more than 50,000 specialized processing chips from Nvidia

The expanded GPU infrastructure is projected to support more than $3.7 billion in annualized AI cloud revenue, strengthening IREN’s position among global AI cloud service providers. The company has previously raised about $9.3 billion in funding through customer prepayments, convertible notes, and GPU financing, with an additional $3.5 billion earmarked for capital expenditures linked to the new GPU deployment.

Potential $6 Billion At-The-Market Share Offering

Alongside the hardware expansion, IREN filed for a potential at the market equity offering of up to $6 billion to fund ongoing capital requirements. The announcement caused a 5% dip in pre-market trading due to potential shareholder dilution.

The GPU acquisition and share offering mark a significant step in IREN’s strategy to scale AI infrastructure efficiently, positioning the company to meet growing demand for high-performance AI computing while maintaining financial flexibility for future growth.
