The move reflects a broader industry shift as miners diversify revenue streams. Following the 2024 Bitcoin halving and rising network difficulty, margins have tightened across the sector. On Friday, Bitcoin mining difficulty climbed roughly 15% to 144.4 trillion, increasing operational pressure.

MARA shares are down 17% YTD

Several firms, including HIVE Digital Technologies and CoreWeave, have expanded into AI infrastructure to stabilize income. By leveraging existing energy capacity and data center expertise, mining operators are positioning themselves within the rapidly growing high-performance computing market.
