A Polymarket trader made a nearly 100x profit on Saturday by capitalizing on a brief error during a UFC heavyweight fight. Known as LlamaEnjoyer on Polymarket and Verrissimus on X, the trader watched the bout between Tyrell Fortune and Marcin Tybura. When UFC announcer Bruce Buffer initially declared Tybura the winner, LlamaEnjoyer suspected a mistake.

During this short window, Polymarket shares for Fortune dropped to one cent. The trader quickly placed a $676 bet on Fortune winning just before Buffer corrected the announcement and declared Fortune the victor. The trade yielded approximately $67,608 in profit.

The trader said on X;

LlamaEnjoyer noted they had almost placed $100,000 on Tybura at 99 cents before realizing something was “off” and canceled the order, instead buying the 1-cent shares. The trade occurred within 50 seconds of the incorrect announcement, before the UFC commentator confirmed the mistake.

The incident highlights how quickly prediction market odds can swing during live events. Crypto prediction markets have seen rapid growth, with March 2026 trading volumes exceeding $10.4 billion, and over 865,000 users placing bets on platforms like Polymarket, Kalshi, and Opinion across sports, politics, finance, and culture.
