Trump Says U.S. Does Not Need China to End Iran Conflict as Hormuz Tensions Rise
U.S. President Donald Trump said he does not believe China’s support is necessary to bring an end to the ongoing conflict with Iran, even as regional tensions continue to affect global energy markets. Speaking before his visit to Beijing, Trump said the United States would resolve the situation “peacefully or otherwise” and maintained that preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon remains Washington’s top priority.

Trump is expected to meet Chinese President Xi Jinping later this week, though he signaled that Iran would not depend on Chinese mediation.
Iran Strengthens Position Around Strait of Hormuz
At the same time, Iran has reportedly tightened its influence over the Strait of Hormuz, a critical shipping route that carries nearly 20% of the world’s oil supply. Reports indicate Tehran has expanded energy cooperation with Pakistan and Iraq, securing new oil and liquefied natural gas export arrangements.
Rising Oil Prices and Political Pressure
The continued uncertainty has pushed Brent crude oil prices above $107 per barrel, raising concerns over inflation and energy costs. Meanwhile, public criticism has increased in the United States as voters question the long-term goals and financial impact of the conflict ahead of upcoming elections.
