The latest Bitcoin acquisition underscores growing institutional conviction in digital assets, as Strategy adds another 487 BTC to its expanding $67 billion treasury.
Institutional confidence in Bitcoin (BTC) continues to build momentum as Strategy deepens its accumulation strategy. In a recent filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the company revealed the purchase of 487 BTC valued at roughly $50 million, at an average price of $102,557 per coin.
The acquisition lifts Strategy’s total Bitcoin holdings to 641,692 BTC, now worth over $67 billion, reinforcing its position as the largest publicly traded holder of Bitcoin. The move marks a notable increase compared to the previous week, when the firm added 397 BTC, signaling accelerating confidence in the asset’s long-term potential.
Market analysts note that Strategy’s consistent accumulation reflects a broader institutional pivot toward hard digital assets amid ongoing macroeconomic uncertainty. “This pattern of steady accumulation shows a deepening belief in Bitcoin as a long-term store of value rather than a short-term trading instrument,” said an independent market strategist.
At the time of the announcement, Bitcoin traded around $105,321, posting a modest 1.5% gain over the previous 24 hours, according to on-chain analytics platform data. The purchase follows a week of volatility triggered by shifting expectations for US monetary policy and the nearing end of the government shutdown, both of which have influenced investor sentiment toward risk assets.
Adding to the bullish tone, Kynikos Associates, a major hedge fund, confirmed it had closed its short position against Strategy’s shares, citing reduced downside risks in the company’s Bitcoin-focused treasury strategy.
“Institutional investors are no longer viewing corporate Bitcoin holdings as a liability; instead, they’re recognizing them as a strategic advantage amid currency debasement and inflation,” another analyst noted.
The firm’s latest acquisition reaffirms a growing institutional belief that Bitcoin remains a resilient and strategic reserve asset in uncertain economic times.
