The world’s largest corporate holder of Bitcoin has done it again. As Bitcoin surged past $118,000 last week, Strategy (Michael Saylor’s firm) revealed a new investment of $472.5 million in BTC — further cementing its dominant position in the digital asset landscape.
New Bitcoin Purchase Adds Over 4,200 BTC
In a regulatory filing submitted to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Strategy confirmed the acquisition of 4,225 BTC at an average price of $111,827 per coin.
This latest buy occurred as Bitcoin jumped from $108,000 to $118,000 during the same week, underscoring the company’s ongoing conviction in BTC as its primary treasury asset.
“We believe Bitcoin is the best long-term store of value,” Strategy has consistently emphasized in its public disclosures.

Total Holdings Now Top 600,000 BTC
With this latest acquisition, Strategy now holds 601,550 BTC, acquired for a total cost of $42.87 billion, reflecting an average entry price of $71,268 per coin.
This makes Strategy not just the biggest public company holder of Bitcoin, but also one of the most aggressively accumulating entities in the space — far ahead of other institutional holders and ETFs.
A Resumption After Brief Pause
This purchase was Strategy’s first BTC buy in July, following a brief pause during the beginning of the month. The company had also announced a $4.2 billion stock sale, likely as a capital-raising strategy to fund further Bitcoin purchases.
In Q2 2025, the company reported $14 billion in unrealized Bitcoin gains, indicating a remarkably profitable holding strategy as BTC prices continue to climb.
Year-to-Date BTC Gains: Over 88,000 BTC
So far in 2025, Strategy has added 88,062 BTC, valued at approximately $10.9 billion. For comparison, in the entire year of 2024, the company accumulated 140,538 BTC worth $13 billion — signaling that the pace of accumulation remains strong.
Institutional Confidence in Bitcoin Continues to Grow
This aggressive accumulation of Bitcoin by Strategy reinforces the growing confidence among institutions in BTC as a reliable long-term asset. As more companies follow suit and spot ETFs gain traction, Bitcoin’s status as a digital treasury reserve appears more secure than ever.
