A recent high-profile dinner hosted by former U.S. President Donald Trump for top memecoin holders and crypto influencers has stirred online backlash—not for policy, but for bad food and an underwhelming speech.
Nicholas Pinto, a social media personality and TikTok prankster, made headlines after labeling the dinner as serving the “worst food” he’s ever eaten at a Trump property, and calling Trump’s address “pretty much like bullshit.”
Million-Dollar Seats, Subpar Meals
Held on May 22, the exclusive event took place at one of Trump’s private golf courses, where attendees reportedly paid millions to be part of the crypto-centric evening.
“It was the worst food I’ve ever had at a Trump golf course,” said Pinto in an interview with WIRED on May 23.
The menu included a “Trump Organic Field Green Salad,” a filet mignon, pan-seared halibut with mashed potatoes and vegetables, and a lava cake for dessert. While it sounded premium on paper, the execution didn’t impress guests.
“The only good thing was the bread and butter,” Pinto quipped, adding that he left the dinner still hungry.
“Walmart Steak”? Filet Mignon Slammed
Pinto went further in a separate interview with Fortune, where he slammed the main course by calling it “trash” and likening the filet mignon to “Walmart steak.” Other attendees interviewed described the food as “OK, but not top-class,” especially for an event with such a high entry price.

Trump’s Speech: “Crypto Might Be Special…Who Knows?”
The underwhelming dinner was followed by an equally uninspiring speech from Trump, according to multiple attendees.
In a video shared on X (formerly Twitter), Trump was seen reading from a script, making generic statements about cryptocurrency:
“You believe in the whole crypto thing. A lot of people are starting to believe in it… This is really something that may be special — who knows?”
Pinto labeled the speech as “bullshit,” criticizing the lack of depth or clarity in Trump’s statements regarding his stance on cryptocurrency.
Was It Worth It?
While the event was supposed to be a celebration of crypto adoption, many left questioning the value of the experience. With tickets costing up to seven figures, attendees expected exclusive insights—not lukewarm steak and vague promises.
The event may have created buzz online, but it left a bad taste—literally and figuratively—for many in the crypto community.
