Social media platform X is preparing to introduce a new onboarding feature designed to help users quickly discover relevant content, with cryptocurrencies positioned as a major focus. The tool, called Starterpacks, aims to simplify how new users build their feeds by instantly following curated groups of accounts tied to specific interests, including Bitcoin and digital assets.
According to X’s head of product Nikita Bier, the feature will roll out within the next few weeks after months of preparation. The platform has already compiled more than 1,000 pre-made interest categories, each featuring accounts considered influential or highly active within their niche. These categories span a wide range of topics, such as cryptocurrency, finance, technology, politics, fashion, and business.
X head of product Nikita Bier said in a post on Wednesday ;
Within the crypto segment, Starterpacks will include focused subcategories like Bitcoin commentary, memecoin trading, software builders, and market analysis. The goal is to help users bypass the challenge of manually discovering quality accounts, a process that traditionally takes years for active users.
The launch comes amid discussion that engagement around crypto-related content on X has slowed. Shared data indicates that posts containing the word “Bitcoin” declined by 32% during 2025, raising concerns about visibility and community growth within the space. Starterpacks appear designed to counter this trend by reconnecting users with niche communities and relevant voices.
Bier emphasized that X functions as an interest-based network rather than a contact-based one, making discovery critical to long-term engagement. By streamlining how users find specialized content, Starterpacks aim to unlock the platform’s core value.
Similar tools have been tested on other platforms, but X’s approach stands out for its scale and emphasis on global niches. For crypto communities, Starterpacks may offer a renewed path to visibility, engagement, and sustained growth.
