Artificial intelligence is rapidly transforming crypto security by making smart contract audits faster, cheaper and more accessible. New AI-powered systems such as Mythos are helping developers identify vulnerabilities in blockchain code within minutes instead of weeks.
Security experts say the technology could reshape industry expectations around due diligence before launching crypto projects. Alexander Urbelis, chief information security officer at ENS Labs, said AI tools are pushing the cost of basic audits close to zero, allowing smaller projects to access security reviews that were once too expensive.
Continuous Smart Contract Monitoring Gains Attention
Unlike traditional automated testing systems, newer AI models can analyze how code behaves and compare it with what developers intended. David Schwed, COO of blockchain security firm SVRN, said these systems now operate more like human attackers by adapting in real time during testing.
Researchers believe continuous AI-driven auditing could soon become a standard requirement across the crypto sector. However, experts also warned that AI cannot fully replace experienced auditors, especially in detecting economic manipulation, social engineering attacks and compromised signing systems behind major crypto hacks.
