Apple Unveils New Mac Mini and Mac Studio Targeting AI Developers

Apple has launched new versions of the Mac Mini and Mac Studio, designed with AI developers in mind. The new Mac Mini comes equipped with either Apple’s latest M6 chip or the M5 Pro processor, while the Mac Studio features the M5 Max and a new M5 Ultra option. Apple says both machines offer significant improvements in AI performance, along with better gaming and video editing capabilities.

Rising Prices Amid Global Chip Shortage

Due to an ongoing global memory and storage shortage affecting the tech industry, Apple has raised prices across several models. The base Mac Mini now starts at $899, up from $799, while the higher-end M5 Pro version starts at $1,699. The Mac Studio remains priced from $2,499, with the top M5 Ultra configuration reaching $5,499.

Strong Demand Continues for Compact Desktops

Both machines have become popular among AI developers for their affordability, compact size, and ability to run without a display, making them useful for handling AI agents remotely. Demand remains high, with current wait times exceeding a month for the Mac Mini and up to 12 weeks for the Mac Studio.
