Deadly Strike on Kyrylivka Resort
Twelve people died in an overnight drone attack on the resort town of Kyrylivka near Melitopol in Zaporizhzhia, according to Russian appointed governor Yevgeny Balitsky, who said 19 others were wounded and accused Ukraine of deliberately targeting civilians. Ukraine had not commented on the strike as of publication.
Courier Drivers Killed in Sumy
In Ukraine’s Sumy region, a Russian drone strike killed three drivers working for courier service Nova Poshta and sparked a fire at the facility. Ukrainian officials called it a civilian site, while Russia’s defense ministry said it had targeted a drone storage location.
Diplomatic Developments
The attacks followed a warning from President Volodymyr Zelenskyy that a major Russian strike was imminent. The White House confirmed Trump and Zelenskyy will meet Tuesday in Washington. Separately, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said a peace deal could be achievable if both sides froze fighting and returned to talks, speaking alongside Vladimir Putin in Omsk.

Romania’s defense ministry said its forces shot down a drone that breached its airspace near the Ukrainian border, the latest in a series of incursions affecting NATO members since the war began.
