Binance’s Android app has disappeared from Google Play in some European Union countries, raising fresh questions about the exchange’s compliance with the bloc’s crypto licensing rules.
App Missing in Some Markets, Present in Others
A user in Spain confirmed the app no longer appears in Google Play searches, though it remains accessible through an alternative app store used on certain devices. However, checks in Poland showed the app still available on Google Play, suggesting the issue is not affecting all EU countries equally.
MiCA Licensing at the Center
Reports of the app’s removal first surfaced last week, with a rival exchange executive claiming the change was tied to Markets in Crypto-Assets licensing requirements. Binance has not responded to requests for comment on the matter.
OKX Europe CEO Erald Ghoos claimed on X that;

Recent Regulatory Setbacks
The development follows Binance withdrawing its MiCA license application in Greece just before the framework’s transition period ended on July 1. Around the same time, the exchange notified some EU users that certain services would face restrictions, though withdrawals would continue to be available.
