Binance.US Targets 20% Market Share as CEO Outlines Growth Strategy After Regulatory Challenges
Binance.US is accelerating its comeback strategy after two years of regulatory setbacks, with CEO Stephen Gregory saying the exchange is focused on rebuilding its business, expanding regulated products, and regaining the market position it once held in the United States. The company believes lower trading fees, stronger liquidity, and a broader range of services will help attract customers in an increasingly competitive crypto market.

Binance.US Focuses on Growth After Two-Year Recovery
Stephen Gregory described the past two years as a period of “hibernation” caused by regulatory challenges linked to the broader Binance brand. He emphasized that Binance.US operates as a separate US only company, with its own governance structure, although it shares a common beneficial owner and brand name with Binance.com.
Gregory said Binance.US previously controlled around 20% of the US cryptocurrency exchange market and is now working to return to that level. He added that the platform is licensed exclusively to serve customers in the United States, positioning itself as a fully regulated exchange.
Lower Fees and Better Liquidity Drive Expansion Plans
To compete with major exchanges such as Coinbase and Kraken, Binance.US has introduced an ultra-low fee model. Gregory said the platform now offers 0% maker fees and 2-basis-point taker fees, making it one of the lowest-cost crypto trading platforms in the country.
He explained that Binance.US has maintained a lean operating structure, allowing it to keep expenses low while planning to generate additional revenue through services such as digital asset custody alongside trading.
Exchange Plans to Expand Into New Crypto Products
Looking ahead, Gregory said a more supportive US regulatory environment could allow Binance.US to move beyond spot trading. The exchange plans to pursue additional regulatory licenses that would enable it to offer derivatives, perpetual futures, and prediction markets.
According to Gregory, Binance.US aims to bring the deep liquidity associated with the Binance brand to US customers, improving pricing, competition, and overall market efficiency.
