Bitcoin Price Drop Sparks Fears of Deeper Correction as ETF Outflows Cross $1.5 Billion
Bitcoin has dropped nearly $5,000 in just a few days, sliding from around $82,000 to nearly $76,800. While some traders first viewed the move as a normal correction after Bitcoin’s strong rally from $60,000, fresh market data suggests the decline could continue.

Bitcoin has dropped nearly $5,000 in just a few days, sliding from around $82,000 to nearly $76,800. While some traders first viewed the move as a normal correction after Bitcoin’s strong rally from $60,000, fresh market data suggests the decline could continue.

Bitcoin ETF Outflows Signal Weak Institutional Demand
One of the clearest warning signs is the heavy outflow from US spot Bitcoin ETFs. Since May 7, investors have withdrawn more than $1.5 billion from Bitcoin exchange traded funds. On May 19 alone, daily outflows reached about $648 million, the biggest single day withdrawal since late January.

This sharp selling has erased earlier monthly gains and points to weaker institutional confidence. Large investors appear to be reducing exposure as uncertainty around inflation, rising bond yields, and global tensions increases.
Bitcoin Selling Pressure Increases in Spot and Futures Markets
Trading activity also shows stronger selling pressure. Market data indicates aggressive selling in both spot and futures markets, meaning traders are actively exiting positions instead of waiting for buyers.
Key Bitcoin Price Levels to Watch
Analysts say Bitcoin’s first major support sits near $76,000, followed by a stronger demand zone between $74,000 and $75,000. A break below these levels could open the door to a deeper correction.
