Bitcoin Reclaims $80,000 as Solana and Hyperliquid Lead Broader Crypto Rally

Crypto markets closed the week strong, with bitcoin jumping more than 5% to reclaim the $80,000 level after weeks of consolidating between $75,000 and $78,000. The rally came even as a major crypto regulation bill remained stalled in the Senate, with federal agencies stepping in to advance rules independently.

Earlier in the day, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission submitted its own crypto rulemaking proposal to the White House, following the Securities and Exchange Commission’s release of a new exemption allowing tokenized stocks to trade onchain. Separately, a House committee also advanced legislation this week that would direct the Treasury Department to establish a secure Bitcoin storage facility.

Altcoins Outperform Bitcoin

Among major cryptocurrencies, Solana and Hyperliquid led gains, both rising roughly 10%. Hyperliquid’s HYPE token reached a fresh all-time high above $90, coinciding with the platform’s launch of a new manual borrowing feature that lets users collateralize HYPE and bitcoin holdings for stablecoin loans.

Institutional Sentiment Shifts

Separately, an investor and entrepreneur said he has resumed buying crypto positions, citing potential major stock exchange adoption of blockchain technology as a key trend to watch going forward.

Meanwhile, analysts noted that markets have shown resilience despite recent hawkish monetary policy moves and legislative setbacks, with reduced dollar yields and a broader rally across risk assets, including a strong recovery in tech stocks.
