Bitcoin Slips Under $80,000 for the First Time in a Month as Leverage Keeps Building
Bitcoin briefly fell below $80,000 after hot producer price data, shaking out leveraged traders even as many of them seem ready to bet again.

Bitcoin briefly fell below $80,000 after hot producer price data, shaking out leveraged traders even as many of them seem ready to bet again.

BTC lost the $80,000 level for the first time in 30 days once the producer price numbers came out. About $100 million in positions were wiped out over four hours.
The price has since recovered to around $81,800, though the rebound itself triggered another $73.81 million in liquidations within a single hour.

Even after the flush, open interest continues to climb, which suggests traders are adding new leverage instead of stepping back. Rising leverage after a sharp drop can raise the risk of further sudden swings in either direction.
