Bitcoin Stays Near $65,000 as Tech Stocks Lose Nearly $800 Billion

Bitcoin held steady near $65,300 during Friday's Asian trading session, showing little reaction to a sharp selloff that wiped out close to $800 billion from US technology stocks. Btc slipped less than 1% on the day while remaining up 3% for the week, a rare moment of separation from an asset that has closely tracked tech markets throughout the month.

Alphabet and Tesla Spark Investor Worry

The selloff followed Alphabet raising its 2026 capital expenditure forecast to as much as $205 billion, along with Tesla reporting weaker than expected profits as CEO Elon Musk described heavy AI-related spending plans. Investors have grown increasingly concerned that AI infrastructure spending is outpacing near-term returns.
