Digital asset firm BitGo has finalized its purchase of NYDIG’s institutional trading division, a move aimed at strengthening its lineup of services for large-scale crypto investors.
Deal Details and Strategic Goals
The acquisition brings NYDIG’s derivatives, structured products, financing, and capital markets offerings under BitGo’s platform. Company leadership said the move will help BitGo support institutional clients across the full digital asset lifecycle, from custody and trading to financing and settlement. Around 30 NYDIG staff members, along with their institutional client relationships, have transitioned to BitGo as part of the deal.
NYDIG’s Shifting Focus
Following the sale, NYDIG plans to redirect its efforts toward bitcoin mining, power generation, and data center development for high-performance computing — areas the company has been expanding into recently.
Shares of BitGo saw a modest gain following the announcement, closing higher on the day the deal was disclosed.
