BNB Chain Unveils New Layer 1 Blockchain Built For Agentic Trading

BNB Chain is developing a new Layer 1 blockchain specifically designed for agentic trading, aiming for sub 50 millisecond transaction confirmation and the removal of a public mempool to reduce front-running risks. The project targets a testnet launch by the end of 2026 and mainnet deployment in early 2027.

Closing The Gap With Centralized Exchanges

BNB Chain CTO David Z said the goal is to bring onchain trading close to the experience of a centralized exchange while keeping self-custody and transparency intact. He acknowledged that co-located high-frequency trading still favors centralized platforms, but argued that for most users, sub 50 millisecond execution matches what they actually experience today, without the custodial risk tied to centralized exchanges.

New Architecture Removes Public Mempool

The chain introduces a feature called TxStream, which sends transactions directly to the block leader instead of a public mempool, making common attacks like sandwich trading harder to execute. Block leaders rotate every 200 milliseconds to prevent any single validator from exploiting the position for long. A second feature, PriorityLane, reserves block space for critical functions like oracles, liquidations and bridges.

Performance Targets And Ecosystem Fit

BNB Chain is aiming for throughput above 100,000 transactions per second through parallel execution and optimized consensus, alongside sub-one-second finality, though these remain design targets ahead of testnet. The new chain will connect to BNB Smart Chain through a native bridge, with BSC continuing to serve as the main settlement hub. It will become the fourth chain in BNB Chain’s ecosystem, joining BNB Smart Chain, opBNB and Greenfield.

Early Work On Quantum Resistance

Separately, BNB Chain is exploring quantum-resistant security through a hybrid model layering post quantum protections onto existing cryptography, though the CTO noted no protocol in the industry has a complete quantum migration plan yet.
