Canton Network Developer Seeks Major Investment

Digital Asset Holdings, the company behind the institutional blockchain platform Canton Network, is reportedly preparing to raise nearly $300 million at a valuation close to $2 billion. The funding round is expected to be led by crypto-focused venture firm Andreessen Horowitz’s a16z crypto, with reports suggesting the deal could close in the coming weeks.

If completed, this would become the company’s largest fundraising effort so far. Earlier funding rounds brought in $135 million in mid-2025 and another $50 million later that year, backed by several financial institutions and investment firms.

Canton Network Gains Institutional Adoption

Canton Network has attracted growing interest from major financial companies due to its focus on privacy and institutional-grade blockchain infrastructure. Unlike many public blockchains, the network offers configurable privacy tools designed for handling sensitive financial transactions.

The platform supports tokenized assets and uses an open-source smart contract language to improve secure data sharing between institutions. Reports indicate that more than $6 trillion in tokenized assets have already moved through the network.

Crypto Venture Funding Remains Selective

Despite slower overall crypto venture activity in 2026, large blockchain projects tied to institutional finance continue attracting strong investor interest, especially those focused on privacy and real-world financial applications.
