Circle has agreed to acquire Singapore based cross border payments company Tazapay, a deal expected to close in 2027 pending regulatory approval from Singapore’s central bank. Tazapay processes more than $25 billion in annualized payment volume and operates payout rails across over 100 markets, working with more than 60 banking and fintech partners.
Rapid Growth Since Last Funding Round
Tazapay’s annualized volume has more than doubled from roughly $10 billion reported in August 2025, when the company raised a Series B round backed by both Circle and XRP-issuer Ripple. Stablecoins currently make up about 60% of Tazapay’s transaction volume, according to Circle.
Acquisition Builds on Existing Partnership
Tazapay has served as a design partner for the Circle Payments Network since 2025, and Circle said the deal will strengthen its ability to move payments in and out of Asia-Pacific and emerging markets near-instantly.
A Circle payments executive said the move brings the company closer to making USDC a standard rail for global commerce. Financial terms were not disclosed, and Circle shares dipped slightly in premarket trading following the announcement.
