Crypto Job Postings Triple to Over 1,200 in September as Applications Decline

Crypto companies are hiring again, with job listings more than tripling between July and September after a quiet first half of 2026. Firms posted 1,241 openings in September, up from 886 in August and 382 in July, according to CryptoJobsList. September's total was also more than double January's 573, which had been the busiest month of the year until August. Is Seasonality Behind the Surge?

A bounce after the summer lull would be normal, but the data suggests there is more going on. August numbers already doubled July’s, and 2025 shows no matching late summer jump. That year was weak throughout, peaking at only 373 listings in October, with flat figures from July through September.

Applications Fall as Job Listings Rise

While postings climbed, applications moved the other way: 25,700 in July, 24,631 in August and just under 20,000 in September. The platform reads this as tighter competition for specialist workers, though the data alone does not explain why applications dropped.

Most In Demand Crypto Jobs and Skills

Finance was the largest category over the past three months, followed by engineering and trading, with stablecoins, AI, security and compliance also in the top 10. Bitcoin was the most requested blockchain skill, followed by Ethereum and Solana. The fourth quarter opens with more vacancies than any earlier point this year, but not more applicants.
