The US Justice Department has confirmed the seizure of more than $560,000 in cryptocurrency tied to Hamas, alongside efforts to dismantle the group’s online fundraising infrastructure. The announcement came with the release of five affidavits detailing a series of actions carried out through 2025 and 2026.
Three separate crypto warrants, executed across 2025, accounted for the total funds recovered. One of the earliest actions alone recovered over $201,000 from wallets connected to a network that had reportedly moved more than $1.5 million since late 2024. Authorities say the funds were controlled on behalf of Hamas’ military wing, the Al-Qassam Brigades.

FBI Takes Control of Hamas Fundraising Website
In addition to the financial seizures, the FBI took over domains and servers connected to Alqassam.ps, the group’s primary fundraising website, allowing investigators to intercept future crypto donations at the source.
Officials say investigators relied on human sources to trace rotating wallet addresses shared through an encrypted chat group and the fundraising site. The operation also gave authorities access to information on thousands of individuals who had reached out to Hamas-linked platforms to make donations through crypto or traditional payment channels.
