Estonia’s Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) has partially suspended the operating license of BB Trade Estonia OÜ, the company behind crypto exchange Zondacrypto, raising fresh concerns about the platform’s regulatory standing in Europe.

Under the suspension, the company is temporarily banned from accepting new deposits and onboarding new customers. However, existing users are still allowed to withdraw their funds while the review process continues.

Zondacrypto Given 30 Days to Meet Compliance Rules

Estonian authorities have given BB Trade Estonia OÜ a 30-day period to address legal and compliance concerns. If the company fails to meet the required standards, regulators may fully revoke its license.

The FIU did not publicly explain the exact violations that led to the decision. Earlier this month, Estonia’s Financial Supervision and Resolution Authority also warned that a crypto token linked to the company, called TeamPL, may have breached European Union crypto rules by being listed without a required white paper under MiCA regulations.

Zondacrypto Faces Wider Regulatory Pressure

The exchange has recently faced questions over withdrawal issues and concerns tied to wallet access. Founded in Poland in 2014 as BitBay, Zondacrypto later moved its registration to Estonia in 2019 and became widely used across Europe, especially among Polish-speaking crypto traders.
