Ethena’s ENA Jumps 48% on FalconX Deal, But Broader Altcoin Season Still Elusive

Ethena's ENA token surged 60.3% over 24 hours and 77.2% for the week, driven by a newly announced $1 billion secured warehouse facility with FalconX. The deal redirects assets backing Ethena's USDe synthetic dollar into institutional credit markets rather than crypto basis trading strategies.

What’s Driving the Move

ENA had traded sideways between $0.06 and $0.10 for months following its collapse from above $0.80, leaving limited resistance once buying interest returned. Trading volume reached $1.04 billion, up 319% from the previous day and equal to nearly three-quarters of the token’s total market value.

Hyperliquid Breaks to New Highs

Hyperliquid’s HYPE token also drew attention, touching $77.87 and surpassing its previous June record. The rally follows comments from President Trump suggesting the CFTC is working to bring the exchange into full US regulatory compliance. Other tokens including Curve, Fetch.ai, Pudgy Penguins, and Pepe also posted double-digit gains.

Not a Broad Alt Season Yet

Despite strong individual performances, Bitcoin dominance remains largely unchanged at 59.8%, and altcoin season index has actually declined from last week. Analysts note this rally appears driven by specific catalysts rather than the indiscriminate token-wide surges seen in past cycles.
