Ethereum Foundation Adds Security Researcher pcaversaccio to Its Board

The Ethereum Foundation has appointed longtime ecosystem contributor pcaversaccio, widely known as “pc,” to its board, expanding its leadership team as the organization continues adjusting its governance structure.

Background and Role

Known for his work as a security researcher and co-founder of emergency response initiative SEAL 911, pcaversaccio joins the board for an initial one-year voluntary term. He previously served on the foundation’s Silviculture Society, an advisory group offering informal guidance on protecting core principles such as censorship resistance, open-source development, privacy and security.

Board Now Includes Four Members

With this addition, the Ethereum Foundation’s board now consists of four members: President Aya Miyaguchi, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin, Swiss legal counsel Patrick Storchenegger and pcaversaccio. The board is responsible for shaping the foundation’s long-term strategic direction and ensuring management decisions align with its founding values, while also functioning as a security council overseeing compliance with Swiss law, where the organization is based.

Comes Amid Broader Leadership Shifts

The appointment arrives during a period of notable change at the Ethereum Foundation, following the departure of several senior researchers and executives in recent months. Some of these individuals have since launched independent Ethereum-focused projects outside the foundation, as the organization shifts its focus toward long-term stewardship rather than direct ecosystem development. The foundation welcomed pcaversaccio publicly, expressing interest in working together to support Ethereum’s future direction.
