Traditional Banks Continue Entering Crypto Space

Among the newly approved firms is Ripple’s European payments division, along with a Portugal based bank and a state owned bank in Croatia. Two German cooperative banks and a Liechtenstein-based private banking group were also added, reflecting a continued trend of traditional financial institutions expanding into regulated crypto services across Europe. The register already includes several major banks, including institutions from Spain, Germany, France and Luxembourg.

Stablecoin Registers Remain Unchanged

Regulators reported no new additions to the categories covering electronic money tokens or asset-referenced tokens, with the electronic money token register holding steady at 21 approved issuers and no approved issuers yet listed for asset-referenced tokens.

Non-Compliant List Also Grows

Separately, regulators added two more entities to the non-compliant register following enforcement action from Italian securities authorities, bringing that list to 164 entries, which includes a major crypto exchange previously flagged for non-compliance.
