Euronext Halts CoinShares’ Zcash ETP on Its Planned Debut Day
Euronext stopped trading in the CoinShares Zcash ETP, ticker ZCSH, on Wednesday, the same day it was due to begin trading in Paris. Euronext stopped trading in the CoinShares Zcash ETP, ticker ZCSH, on Wednesday, the same day it was due to begin trading in Paris. A short notice said the suspension will last until further notice and gave no explanation. The product had been announced earlier that day, so the pause came within hours of the launch plan going public.
Why the Zcash ETP Was Suspended
Euronext’s communications manager later clarified the reason to the press. The product will stay off the market until the central securities depository can fully support standard settlement operations. He stressed that the step is limited to operational settlement requirements, which suggests the issue is about back end processing and not about the product itself.
Zcash ETPs Already Available in Europe
The delay affects what would have been the fourth Zcash based exchange traded product in Europe. 21Shares, Virtune and Valor launched their own versions earlier this year, so investors on the continent already have other ways to get exposure. No new date has been given for the CoinShares listing, and traders will need to wait for an update from the exchange operator.
