Fed Holds Rates Steady for Sixth Straight Meeting, Bitcoin and Gold Rally
The Federal Reserve kept its benchmark interest rate unchanged at 3.50% to 3.75% on Wednesday, marking the sixth consecutive meeting without a change as policymakers continue navigating persistent inflation pressures.

The Federal Reserve kept its benchmark interest rate unchanged at 3.50% to 3.75% on Wednesday, marking the sixth consecutive meeting without a change as policymakers continue navigating persistent inflation pressures.
Markets Faced Unusual Uncertainty Before Decision
The rate hold followed one of the most divided pre-meeting outlooks seen in years. Futures pricing had shown roughly 65% odds of no change and around 35% odds of a quarter-point hike heading into the announcement, a notable shift from the Fed’s typical approach of signaling its policy direction well in advance.
Investors Await Warsh’s Communication Style
Attention has now shifted to Fed Chair Kevin Warsh’s post-meeting press conference. Warsh has previously criticized the central bank’s traditional reliance on forward guidance and its quarterly rate projections, leaving investors closely watching for signs of a shifting communication approach under his leadership.
Bitcoin and Gold Rally on the News
Following the decision, bitcoin moved higher by nearly 1.7%, while gold advanced almost 2%, reflecting how markets reacted positively to the Fed maintaining its current policy stance rather than surprising traders with a rate increase.
