Hezbollah Gets $200 Million From Iran to Support Families Displaced by the War

Hezbollah has received $200 million from Iran to help Lebanese families uprooted by this year's war with Israel, according to two people with direct knowledge of the transfer. It is the first major aid the group has offered supporters who suffered most in the conflict. The cash arrived last month despite a tightening US economic squeeze on Iran and growing trouble moving money to its Lebanese ally. Reuters said, Middlemen charged a 20% fee, reportedly four times the usual rate, reflecting the risk of dealing with the group. A Hezbollah official said funds had been secured and a distribution plan would be announced in the coming days, without naming the source.

Hezbollah has received $200 million from Iran to help Lebanese families uprooted by this year’s war with Israel, according to two people with direct knowledge of the transfer. Hezbollah Payments for 50,000 Displaced Families

The group plans an initial $3,000 per family, with priority for those whose villages were destroyed or are cut off by Israeli occupation, roughly 50,000 families. Hundreds of thousands were displaced after Hezbollah joined the regional war in support of Iran on March 2, yet most have received little help so far.

US Sanctions on Iran and Hezbollah Funding Challenges

The US Treasury says Iran sent the group $1 billion in the first 10 months of 2025. An interim oil deal signed in June collapsed in July, and Washington has since added sanctions and a naval blockade. Transfers through firms in Iraq, Dubai and Turkey are now harder. Hezbollah’s rivals see money as its oxygen, though fighters and families of the dead are still being paid.
