Houthis Claim Missile And Drone Strikes On Saudi Aramco Facilities

Yemen’s Houthi rebels said Saturday they launched dozens of missiles and drones targeting Saudi Aramco oil facilities in Jizan and Yanbu, describing the attack as retaliation for Saudi-led airstrikes on Hodeida and Kamaran island a day earlier.

Houthi Spokesman Details Targets And Warns Of Escalation

Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree said the group used ballistic and cruise missiles along with drones to hit what he called sensitive Aramco facilities. He described the response as escalation for escalation and warned further attacks would follow depending on how the conflict develops. Saudi Civil Defence confirmed activating early-warning alerts once in Jizan and three times in Yanbu before announcing the threat had passed, though no official Saudi statement addressed the strikes directly.

Coalition Defends Earlier Hodeida Strikes

The attacks followed a Saudi-led coalition operation the coalition described as a proportionate response to Houthi threats against Red Sea shipping. Houthi media said four coalition strikes hit Hodeida and Kamaran island, injuring a worker at a telecommunications facility and a woman on the island, while the coalition denied targeting Hodeida port directly and said all Yemeni ports remain open.

Fighting Also Reported On Yemen’s Internal Front Lines

Separately, Yemen’s government aligned state television reported strikes on Houthi missile launch sites and weapons depots in Marib and Al-Jawf provinces, killing several fighters including missile-launch specialists, though it did not identify who carried out those strikes.
