At least six Palestinians, including a child, were killed in Israeli strikes and gunfire across Gaza on Saturday, according to local health officials. The attacks came despite an ongoing ceasefire that had reduced large-scale fighting since October.
Medical workers said an Israeli airstrike targeted an apartment building in the Sabra neighborhood of Gaza City, killing four people, including two women and a child. Several others were injured after the strike destroyed parts of the residential building.
Another woman was reportedly shot dead in Beit Lahiya in northern Gaza. Later in the day, an additional airstrike in Khan Younis killed one person and wounded at least eight others.
Gaza Ceasefire Faces Growing Pressure
Israeli authorities said one of the strikes targeted a militant, though no further details were provided. Gaza health officials stated that more than 1,010 Palestinians have been killed since the October ceasefire began, while four Israeli soldiers have also died during the same period.
Negotiations between Israel and Hamas remain stalled over future ceasefire terms, disarmament demands and Israeli troop withdrawals from Gaza.
