Tron founder Justin Sun has asked a California federal court to penalize World Liberty Financial and its legal team. His complaint is about timing. The company only revealed its UAE links after his case had been running for months.

What the Dispute Is About

Sun invested $45 million in WLFI tokens and says the company misled him, then froze his holdings. He sued in April. The company at first described itself as a Florida citizen. Days after the court let part of the case stay public in August, it filed a new disclosure listing 22 entities tied to Florida, Delaware, Puerto Rico and the UAE.

Jurisdiction Is Now in Question

Foreign parties on both sides can block a federal court from hearing a case. World Liberty is now using that point to argue the court lacks authority. Its lawyers say they learned about the UAE status later.

What Happens Next

Sun says the delay cost him hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal fees. He plans to refile in California state court after the sanctions request is decided. The company has not commented, and no court has found that it hid anything on purpose.
