Kazakhstan’s Astana International Financial Centre court has barred six platforms from offering digital asset services in its jurisdiction without a license and extended the restrictions to app stores. The Astana Financial Services Authority said Tuesday that the injunctions followed a lawsuit against operators accused of providing services without authorization.

Which Platforms Were Named

The Sept. 15 order listed BingX, Bitcoin.com, Huobi Global, BitMart, Coinbase, LBank and WEEX. An amendment three days later removed LBank after its operator blocked access in Kazakhstan, leaving six platforms under the injunctions. Google and Apple are also covered as app store operators, with geographic limits on access to the remaining platforms. BingX, Coinbase and Huobi Global had not replied to requests for comment.

Nine Platforms Restricted Access Voluntarily

The regulator said it warned more than 20 platforms about AIFC rules in 2025. Nine voluntarily restricted app access in the country and seven said they planned to seek licenses.

Why Regulators Say Licensing Matters

AFSA said users of unlicensed platforms lack safeguards that licensed firms must provide, including asset protection, disclosure, complaints handling and dispute resolution. CEO Evgeniya Bogdanova called the ruling the result of extensive and consistent enforcement work against platforms advertising and offering services without permission.
