Kraken has introduced trading access to more than 7,000 US-listed stocks for customers across the European Economic Area, broadening its offerings beyond cryptocurrencies and tokenized assets. The crypto exchange announced Tuesday that eligible EEA users can now trade conventional US shares through Kraken Pro and its mobile app, operating under the company’s authorization from the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive II.
Stocks, Crypto, and Tokenized Assets in One Platform
The newly added shares sit alongside more than 600 crypto assets and over 700 xStocks, which are tokenized versions of publicly traded equities already available on Kraken. This setup lets users hold both traditional shares and their tokenized counterparts within the same platform.
The equities service is run through Payward Europe Digital Solutions, Kraken’s investment arm based in Cyprus. According to the company, eligible customers will be able to trade US-listed stocks commission-free, subject to standard conditions. Kraken also said it intends to roll out its combined equities offering to additional markets in the coming months.
xStocks Momentum Continues to Grow
Kraken first launched xStocks in 2025, giving users tokenized exposure to US equities and exchange-traded funds. The company reports the product has generated more than $38 billion in total transaction volume since its debut.
As of Monday, xStocks ranks as the second-largest tokenized stock issuer by market capitalization, at roughly $609 million, trailing Ondo Finance’s approximately $974 million. Binance’s bStocks currently holds the third spot, with a market cap near $544 million.
