Heather Ammel Files Lawsuit Against Sinema

Matthew Ammel’s former wife, Heather Ammel, sued Sinema in North Carolina under the state’s alienation-of-affection law. Sinema’s attorneys moved the case to federal court and sought dismissal, arguing that the alleged relationship took place outside North Carolina and that the court lacked personal jurisdiction.

Sinema acknowledged during her deposition that she knew Ammel was married and had three children. Court records also contain text messages exchanged between the two.

The Ammels separated in November 2024, and their divorce was finalized in March 2026.
