The system integrates trade matching, clearing, settlement, and risk management into a single platform capable of supporting markets ranging from spot crypto to stocks, bonds, and prediction markets.

Strong Backing From Major Financial Players

The announcement follows LayerZero’s earlier collaboration with major institutions including DTCC, Intercontinental Exchange, and Google Cloud, along with a strategic investment from Citadel Securities. LayerZero’s CEO said the goal is to create a neutral, high-performance foundation to support the growing range of tokenized and continuously tradable assets.

ZRO Token Gains Utility Through Fee Burns

ATLAS will operate through two configurations, one aimed at crypto trading apps and prediction markets, and another built for institutional exchanges seeking customizable market rules. Trading venues can stake ZRO for fee discounts, while a majority of platform fees will be used to buy back and burn the token, reducing its overall supply. News of the launch pushed ZRO up more than 30%, even as the company continues recovering from a major security incident earlier this year involving its cross-chain bridge.
