How Stablecoin Fraud and Sanctions Screening Works
The tool traces where money came from and checks for links to fraud, scams, sanctions violations and other financial crime. It also weighs the context of each transaction before assigning a risk score. Banks receive the data through an API, so it fits into the fraud and compliance systems they already use. Mastercard cited a BIS study showing nearly 60% of stablecoin transfers happen inside complex, multi step transactions.
Mastercard BVNK Deal and Stablecoin Strategy
The launch follows Mastercard’s completed acquisition of BVNK in August, a deal worth up to $1.8 billion. Last week it also launched its Global Money Platform, and it plans to bring BVNK into Stablecoin Security next year.
