The company now holds a total of 818,869 BTC, acquired for roughly $61.9 billion at an average cost of $75,540 per coin. At current prices, the holdings are valued at about $66.5 billion, giving the firm estimated unrealized gains of around $4.6 billion. The stash represents nearly 3.9% of Bitcoin’s fixed 21 million supply.

Stock Sales Fund Continued Bitcoin Accumulation

The latest acquisition was funded through sales of Class A common stock (MSTR) and perpetual preferred shares (STRC). Around 231,324 MSTR shares generated approximately $42.9 million, while STRC sales added a smaller amount. Large ATM programs remain active, including multi-billion-dollar issuance plans tied to long-term Bitcoin purchases.

Saylor Strategy and Market Position

Executive Chairman Michael Saylor signaled the purchase with a “Back to work” post after a short pause ahead of earnings. Despite reporting a $12.5 billion Q1 net loss driven by Bitcoin markdowns, the company continues positioning itself as a net long-term accumulator of Bitcoin, even while allowing limited flexibility for future dividend-related sales.
