Most Tokenized Stock Trading on Solana and BNB Chain Happens After US Markets Close

Most trading in tokenized stocks on major blockchains now happens outside regular US market hours, an early sign that around the clock access may be the biggest advantage of putting equities onchain. More than 70% of tokenized stock volume on BNB Chain takes place outside the 9:30 am to 4 pm Eastern session.

The share is 63% on Solana and nearly 60% on Base. Jupiter, a major Solana trading platform, also reported a 50% monthly jump in tokenized asset volume. The numbers suggest investors use these products to trade when traditional exchanges are shut, not just to mirror daytime activity.

Tokenized Equities Market Value Climbs

The value of tokenized stocks has grown 15% over the past 30 days to nearly $3.3 billion. A large part of that sits with issuers such as Ondo Global Markets, xStocks and bStocks, whose tokens trade across several blockchains.

SEC Innovation Exemption for Onchain Stock Trading

Last month, the SEC introduced an innovation exemption that lets qualifying venues trade tokenized US listed stocks on public blockchains. SEC Commissioner Mark Uyeda said venues must publish dollar denominated trade prices, sizes, timestamps and daily volumes, along with liquidity pool addresses and balances. Unlike xStocks and Ondo Global Markets, which are generally unavailable to US investors, qualifying venues can serve US customers as long as they protect shareholder rights and meet trading and disclosure rules.
