NEAR Surges Nearly 85% in a Week as Privacy Features Drive Growth
Near Protocol's native token has posted a sharp rally over the past week, climbing far faster than the broader crypto market as the network rolls out new privacy tools for traders.

Near Protocol’s native token has posted a sharp rally over the past week, climbing far faster than the broader crypto market as the network rolls out new privacy tools for traders.
Token Price and Market Performance
NEAR gained close to 85 percent over seven days and more than 20 percent in the last 24 hours alone, significantly outpacing overall market growth during the same period.

The rally follows the launch of confidential deposit and withdrawal features for perpetual futures trading, which hide the connection between a trader’s funding wallet and their trading account. The platform also announced that confidential funds locked in the system crossed $70 million, triggering the first token distribution under a new incentive program tied to price milestones.
Cross-Chain Swap Volume Climbs
Separately, Near’s cross-chain swap service has now processed nearly $30 billion in total volume, with a large share of recent activity linked to privacy focused Zcash transactions. Analysts note that Near’s infrastructure gives Zcash holders access to confidential, cross-chain liquidity, though they caution that rising values within the system can partly reflect price gains rather than new deposits. Near has also expanded privacy features into its AI division, allowing users to stake tokens in exchange for confidential computing credits.
