Nvidia And SK Group Unveil $500 Billion AI Infrastructure Initiative

Nvidia and South Korea’s SK Group announced a joint initiative worth more than $500 billion on Friday, covering large-scale AI data centers and next-generation memory development, according to Nvidia. The partnership marks one of the largest AI infrastructure commitments in South Korea to date.

SK Hynix Partnership To Secure Advanced Memory Supply

As part of the deal, Nvidia is entering a long-term partnership with SK Hynix to secure future supplies of next-generation memory chips and jointly develop high-bandwidth memory for use in AI training, AI agents, and physical AI applications.

SK Telecom To Build 2-Gigawatt AI Data Center

SK Telecom plans to construct a 2-gigawatt AI data center powered by Nvidia’s Vera Rubin chips alongside SK Hynix’s HBM4 high-bandwidth memory technology, with the first facility expected to become operational in 2027. Separately, Nvidia confirmed it is working with Naver and Brookfield to expand Naver’s existing AI data center operations in South Korea, further strengthening the country’s AI infrastructure footprint.
