Binance Reserves and Market Position

Even after the exodus, Binance still holds about $127.9 billion in wallets tracked by DefiLlama, more than four times the $29 billion sitting at OKX, the next biggest exchange. The platform paused withdrawals on Friday soon after the $6.3 billion breach and began restoring them in phases at 6:00 a.m. UTC on Sunday.

Binance Hack Recovery and Proof of Reserves

By Sunday, Binance said it had replaced about 95% of the affected assets, up from 90% a day earlier. The remaining 5% is made up of less liquid tokens that it keeps buying on the market and through over-the-counter deals. Replacement money comes from its corporate treasury, part of the SAFU fund and a share of its futures insurance fund, and the company has promised customers will not bear the losses. About $3 billion in stolen assets frozen by industry partners is counted separately. A fresh reserves snapshot is already out, with an updated proof-of-reserves report expected Monday.
