Ripple has received preliminary approval for a Crypto Asset Service Provider (CASP) license in Luxembourg ahead of the European Union’s July 1 MiCA deadline. The approval marks a major step for the company as crypto firms race to meet new European regulatory standards.
Once finalized, the license will allow Ripple to offer regulated crypto services across all 30 countries in the European Economic Area through a single regulatory framework. The company said the approval strengthens its position in Europe as demand for regulated digital asset services continues to rise.
Ripple Builds Full MiCA-Compliant Crypto Infrastructure
Ripple stated that the new CASP approval will work alongside its existing Electronic Money Institution license in Luxembourg, obtained earlier in 2026. Together, the two licenses are expected to create a complete crypto asset and stablecoin payment infrastructure for businesses operating in Europe.
The company said banks, fintech firms and payment providers will be able to access regulated crypto and cross-border payment services through one integration system. Ripple believes this structure could improve efficiency for institutions looking to expand digital asset operations within the EU.
Cassie Craddock, Ripple’s managing director for the UK and Europe, said the MiCA framework is encouraging stronger institutional interest in digital assets across the region.

Europe Becomes Key Market for Crypto Regulation
The approval arrives as Europe becomes one of the world’s most important testing grounds for crypto regulation.
Several major crypto firms are still waiting for regulatory approval before the transition deadline takes effect. Reports suggest some exchanges continue facing challenges with licensing applications in certain European countries.
Ripple currently holds more than 75 regulatory licenses worldwide, including authorization from the United Kingdom’s Financial Conduct Authority earlier this year.
